Ingrid Heyn

Ingrid Heyn - lyric-dramatic coloratura soprano

Vocal range: F3 (174 Hz) to A6 (1760 Hz), more than 3 octaves (including the notorious "top F").

Ingrid Heyn, whose voice is that of a lyric dramatic coloratura, encompasses a huge variety in her operatic roles and concert repertoire. She made her debut with La Grand Musique in the rôle of Mademoiselle Silberklang (in Der Schauspieldirektor by Mozart), and thereafter performed with various companies as Violetta (in Verdi’s La Traviata), as Mimi (in a concert version of the first act of Puccini’s La Bohéme), as Angèle Didier (in Lehár’s Der Graf von Luxemburg), triumphed as Susanna (Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro) in numerous performances, and then took on the rôle of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Current roles studied and performed in part include Lucia di Lammermoor, Lakmè, Konstanze, Alcina (Handel), Cleopatra (Handel), to name but a few.

Her concert repertoire is enormous, encompassing French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Czechoslovakian, Swiss, etc., Lieder and other art songs, as well as most of the solo repertoire from the sacred and secular works of Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, and more. She specialises in the performance of Early Music (Monteverdi, Luzzaschi, Purcell, Dowland, etc.), yet her approach to later music (the classical, the Romantic, and early 20th Century works) is equally as meticulous and apt. Ingrid Heyn’s delight in so many genres is matched only by her excellent musicianship and deeply emotional interpretations.
